Independent Living

Independent Living communities allow seniors who are generally able to care for themselves to live independently without having to maintain a house. They offer, under one contract, an independent living unit (apartment or condo), residential amenities, common grounds, a building for socializing and perhaps shared meals and planned social activities, housekeeping, and laundry service. This allows the senior to age in place in one community even if they need additional In-Home healthcare services with time.

The Independent Living facilities with which Therese Johnson and Senior Care of Sacramento work take pride in providing a sense of community and consider each resident a member of our family.

Assistance from outside home care agencies is allowed in many Independent Living communities. The same home health aid or service may be employed by several residents.

Larger Independent Living communities may offer residents a wearable a 24-hour emergency monitoring response pendant. Residents of smaller Independent Living facilities can opt for a 24-hour emergency monitoring response pendant provided by a third-party outside company.

The monthly cost for Independent Living communities varies widely depending on the sparseness or luxuriousness of the facility, the size and type of housing unit, and whether the person enters alone or with a spouse. The average total cost for a one bedroom independent senior living apartment in Northern California is about $3,000 per month. Utilities including phone, cable television, and in-home Internet are not included.

Purchase a Private one hour Consultation - $350

We provide free placements and referrals if someone is referred and placed to assisted living memory care Independent Living or in home care within 90 days. Long-term care plans that consist of phone or in person, assessments, referrals, and financial Referral Resources provided during one on one phone or in person consultations. A one hour phone consultation for a long-term care plan and assessment is $350.

For couples it is $600.

A one and a half hour in person consultation for a long-term care plan and assessment is $525.

A sliding scale is available for low income seniors.
